Elk Mountain Homestead
The Elk Mountain Homestead is owned by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and currently managed by the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation. The property, formerly known as the Betta Christmas Tree Farm, is available for rent so people can enjoy the wildlife, especially elk and the scenic views of the Allegheny Mountains. Proceeds from the rental property benefit elk and other wildlife. The rental property, a 3-bedroom, 2-story restored/remodeled furnished
farmhouse includes a 20' x 20' living room with fireplace and furniture, and a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker and seating for eight people. The 3 bedrooms sleep up to 10 people. There are two showers and one bathroom.
The property is located in Benezette, PA, the heart of the Pennsylvania elk range. The property is a feeding and bedding area for some of the most majestic elk, so visitors often need not travel far to enjoy viewing the elk. Nearby, visitors will be able to tour the Elk Country Visitor Center, scheduled to open in summer 2010.

Peak periods include Memorial Day Weekend, Fourth of July Week/Weekend and Labor Day Week/Weekend through January 1.

• Reservations must be secured with a deposit of 50% of the total cost.
• Balance due upon arrival date.
• Reservation deposits are refundable if cancelled 3 months prior to rental start date.

• Refundable security deposit of $150 and a signed waiver of liability at check-in.
