How do you like to use your parks and forests? Are you a hiker, biker, or angler? Perhaps you are a poet or artist seeking inspiration, or a harried person looking to slow down. There are many reasons for visiting a park or forest - over 35 million visits a year are logged at Pennsylvania's state parks and forests. Now you can help conserve and enhance these treasures you enjoy, by joining the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation.
Believing that each generation is responsible for leaving behind a better legacy of conservation, the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation (PPFF) was created to give users and supporters of Pennsylvania's parks and forests a positive way to support conservation and education on our publicly owned properties.
The Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation welcomes the support of individuals and businesses who share a commitment to conserving, protecting, and enhancing the natural and recreational areas of the commonwealth.
Help keep Pennsylvania's parks and forests places that all can enjoy, forever.
The Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation invites you to become a member, supporting our work and that of our volunteers. With help from our members, we work to enhance your outdoor treasures through our network of volunteer friends groups - one of the strongest and most diverse citizens movements in Pennsylvania. In our short ten years - 1999-2009, we helped 21 groups get off the ground, and we continue to offer them our support. This cadre of volunteers - people like you - are dedicated to giving back to their state park and forest system.
Benefits of Supporting our Work
In these tough economic times, we all like to receive a good return on our investments. Our small staff works tirelessly to launch and support friends groups, who are working to make your parks and forests better through improvements such as playgrounds and pavilions, through educational programming, through camper services like stores and firewood sales, and by maintaining trails, gardens, and museums. Our staff works cooperatively with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources on projects like fish habitat enhancement, reforestation, and educational initiatives. We help raise unrestricted revenue for projects that are not currently funded through the state budget.
