Volunteer Opportunities
Help continue construction of the 1.4-mile loop of the Hearth Tender Trail by digging, clearing, and tamping ground to create a quality sustainable trail tread. Rain or shine may be canceled in the event of severe weather, so it’s important to sign-up (https://forms.office.com/g/Z4HiJ00TrP) so you can be contacted directly should plans change.
What to Bring: Hand tools will be provided but if you have a favorite tool you are welcome to bring it. We’ll be using hoes, pick mattocks, cutter mattocks, rakes, wheelbarrows, and shovels. Wear appropriate clothing and boots/sneakers. Bring eye protection and gloves. Bring snacks and plenty of water.
Directions & Parking: The work site is located on Old Railroad Bed Rd. (GPS Coordinates. 40.03546, -77.28477) about a mile past the Pole Steeple Trail Parking Lot (https://goo.gl/maps/WJBLfXhEiXKTpFQx6). Parking will be tight due to the limited parking spaces along Old Railroad Bed Rd. When you arrive there will be someone assisting with where to park.
