Hiking/Walking, Recreation
Members of the Latino Hispanic Professional Association are invited to join PPFF for an invitation-only outing at Pine Grove Furnace State Park. (Rain date: April 30.) We’ll enjoy a presentation by local historian Andre Weltman, some fun family-friendly walks, and post-hiking snacks.
Come enjoy the full hike experience! All levels of hikers – from “I’ve never set foot on a trail before” to “I like to climb steep hills” – are welcome!
Things to know:
- Transportation will be available to the park upon reservation. Meet at the Boscov’s parking lot at 170 South 32nd Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Van(s) leave at 1:30 PM promptly!
Hikers driving to Pine Grove Furnace should plan to meet at the Furnace Stack parking lot by 2:30 PM. A copy of the park map can be downloaded at the park’s website. The map to the right shows the parking area.
- Hikes will be available for families, beginning hikers, and advanced adventurers. Please specify which you prefer!
- Children are welcome. We would ask that your little charges remain with your group and under your control during the outing.
- Be sure to dress appropriately for outdoor fun – comfortable, closed-toe flat shoes (that you won’t mind getting a little dirty); easy, comfortable clothing (including perhaps a light jacket as April weather can be unpredictable).
- Please be sure to leave a good phone or email on the sign-up form so that in the event we must postpone to the April 30 rain date we can let you know. That go/no-go decision will be made on Friday, April 21.
- Please register to attend prior to April 10.
- Attendance will be limited to the first 35 people registered so sign up early!
