Hiking/Walking, Recreation

latino hispanic pro assoc

Members of the Latino Hispanic Professional Association are invited to join PPFF for an invitation-only outing at Pine Grove Furnace State Park. (Rain date: April 30.) We’ll enjoy a presentation by local historian Andre Weltman, some fun family-friendly walks, and post-hiking snacks.

Come enjoy the full hike experience! All levels of hikers – from “I’ve never set foot on a trail before” to “I like to climb steep hills” – are welcome!

Things to know:

  1. Transportation will be available to the park upon reservation. Meet at the Boscov’s parking lot at 170 South 32nd Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Van(s) leave at 1:30 PM promptly!
  2. pgf furnace stack area mapHikers driving to Pine Grove Furnace should plan to meet at the Furnace Stack parking lot by 2:30 PM. A copy of the park map can be downloaded at the park’s website. The map to the right shows the parking area.
  3. Hikes will be available for families, beginning hikers, and advanced adventurers. Please specify which you prefer!
  4. Children are welcome. We would ask that your little charges remain with your group and under your control during the outing.
  5. Be sure to dress appropriately for outdoor fun – comfortable, closed-toe flat shoes (that you won’t mind getting a little dirty); easy, comfortable clothing (including perhaps a light jacket as April weather can be unpredictable).
  6. Please be sure to leave a good phone or email on the sign-up form so that in the event we must postpone to the April 30 rain date we can let you know. That go/no-go decision will be made on Friday, April 21.
  7. Please register to attend prior to April 10.
  8. Attendance will be limited to the first 35 people registered so sign up early!
