Education

PPFF is now an official Community Partner with Leave No Trace and we look forward to working with you to help communicate the Leave No Trace principles with your visitors and volunteers.

First up? The two-hour course, Effective Communication of Leave No Trace, designed to help you help your visitors understand the impacts of their behavior in our public spaces.

Virtual Workshop: Effective Communication of Leave No Trace
Date: Thursday, May 6, 2021
Time: 6 – 8 pm EDT
Program Objectives/Leave No Trace Goals: Principles, how to communicate, how to apply in the events and projects that you are hosting. Empower the Friends to take LNT into account for your activities as well as be empowered to communicate to visitors. The 23% increase in visitation across the parks and forests system suggests the need to be able to communicate the impacts of overuse: littering, graffiti, lack of knowledge of appropriate behavior.
RSVP/Registration:  LNT.org/PPFF

Advance registration is required. Once you sign up at the above RSVP link, you will get an email confirmation that includes the Zoom link to join the workshop. A reminder email will go out the day before to those who registered.

Trainers: Subaru/Leave No Trace Team, Erin Collier & Brice Esplin

Please note: the Online Awareness Course, a 30-45-minute self-paced overview, is a prerequisite for the Effective Communication workshop. You are welcome to take that any time, as many times as you wish.
