Butler Photographer Wins PA Parks and Forests Foundation Photo Contest

(Camp Hill, PA)- Jennifer Wimer of Butler, PA won 2nd Place in the Friends and Family Fun category of The Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation’s (PPFF) Through the Seasons 2015 Photo Contest. The winning photograph featured an image of a boy playing a stream at Jennings Environmental Education Center.

“The photo was taken on a gorgeous summer day while playing with my son in the stream- I felt that I had to document this great day,” Jennifer says. “Our state parks are an absolute treasure. As a family we love exploring new parks- not one is alike!”

The PPFF contest included six categories: Black and White, Capture the Seasons, Friends and Family Fun, Young Photographers (photographers aged 10-21), Historical Gems, and Nature Up Close. All photos had to be taken in a Pennsylvania state park or forest and judging was done by popular vote on Facebook and critics’ choice. The winning photographs may be viewed at the Foundation’s Facebook page, as well as and other electronic communications including Take Five: Fridays with Pam and Explore: Pennsylvania’s Outdoors in your Inbox.
