Friends of Ridley Creek State Park Looking for Volunteers

Volunteer Descriptions


The Friends of Ridley Creek State park is looking for a new Board Treasurer.  The ideal candidate for this volunteer position would have non-profit board experience and a passion for Ridley Creek State park and the environment.  The Friend’s Funds are managed by our parent organization, the Pennsylvania Parks & Forests Foundation.  As Treasurer you will communicate with the PPFF bookkeeper to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of our funds.  You will collect and process membership dues and donation checks and keep accurate records of donations.


Must have access to Microsoft Excel, printer, copier and digital scanner

Manage and have oversight of all aspects of RCSP finances.

Process reimbursement requests from other Board members.

Pick up the mail from the Friend’s mailbox in the park office during office hours (M-F 8am-4pm).

Send info on new memberships and renewals to Membership Chair.

Be available for Board meetings, held several times a year.

Graphic Designer

 The Friends of Ridley Creek State park is looking for a new volunteer to be our graphic designer.  The main responsibility will be designing the Friends Newsletter after it is written and edited, working with the Newsletter Editor.

The Newsletter is sent out twice a year to Friends members and other interested people on our email list.  As our graphic designer you will be putting articles and photographs from other Friends members into our newsletter template, then make any necessary corrections after it has been proofread by the Editor.

As designer you may also be asked to make fliers or other materials for occasional events such as our photography contest.
