Attention All Walkers!

Just in case you did not receive this email directly from Highmark, here are logistical details for Saturday morning. Look for Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation at TENT 40.

Parking/Traffic:
Parking will be available on the Harrisburg Area Community College campus as well as at the Farm Show Complex on Elmerton Avenue.  A shuttle will be talking participants to and from Elmerton to the event space.

Tents:
Each organization will have a tent within the event footprint.  Please find attached map / tent assignment sheet to find where your favorite organization will be setting up shop this year for the walk.

Walk Route:
We will utilize the 5k & 1k loops around the HACC Campus. Please look for yard markers to keep you on path.

Donations:
Participants can bring donations to the event, where they can be submitted to the organization which you are supporting. Please make any checks out directly to the organization you are supporting.

T-shirts:
Please check in with your respective nonprofit to confirm your donations. The nonprofits have been instructed to stamp your hand to confirm you have raised the minimum of $30 to receive the Highmark Walk T-shirt. Please proceed to the T-shirt tent to claim your shirt.

Walk Ceremonies:
Brief ceremonies will take place throughout the morning from 7:45 AM on at the stage with the Opening Ceremony taking place at approximately 8:30 AM. From there we’ll hit the course right around 9:00 AM after a quick warm-up.

Restrooms:
Port-A-Johns will be within the event space for participants to use.

Refreshments:
Bananas, water, granola bars courtesy of PSECU, and coffee courtesy of the Salvation Army Canteen will be available within the event footprint.

Raffles:
Highmark will have raffles for those who raise $50 or more. You will receive one raffle ticket for every $50 you raise. All funds raised as of noon on Friday, May 19 will automatically be entered into the raffle. Any additional donations please turn into your respective organization, which will coordinate any additional raffles chances.

The prizes are as follow: Bluetooth Headphones, Kindle, Amazon Fire Tablet, Fit Bit, Bluetooth Speaker, and gift cards to Dick’s Sporting Goods, Home Depot, and Giant.

Our special PPFF raffle follows the same guidelines with an additional prize of an EMS backpack.

Kids Activities:
We will have the Caring Place onsite with kids activities along with mascots.

Pet Friendly / Stroller Friendly:
Fido is allowed to come to the walk.  Please ask Fido to be well behaved and on a leash. The walk route is also very stroller friendly and flat.

Smoking Policy:
As a walk to promote healthy activities within our community, we are asking that our participants refrain from smoking during this year’s event.
