Camp Hill, PA –The Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation (PPFF), the only non-profit whose mission is Pennsylvania’s state parks and forests, today announced the appointment of Jae Ellison to its board of directors, effective January 1st, 2017.
Mr. Ellison earned a Masters of Education in Outdoor Education Administration from Georgia College. Since that time Jae has worked as an instructor at SOLO Wilderness Medicine School and is currently the Director of Outdoor Leadership & Education at Lycoming College. Jae will bring his experience in designing, marketing, and delivering recreational outdoor programing for a variety of populations to his work on the board of PPFF.
“I view the natural spaces of Pennsylvania as one of our finest resources,” said Jae. “I identify strongly with the mission of Pennsylvania Parks & Forest Foundation and admire the work that is being done. Due to this, I am eager to aid in the advancement of the PPFF mission and contribute to the well-being of our parks and forests.”
“Jae’s experience in engaging people in outdoor recreation will play an important role in advancing the mission of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation,” said Marci Mowery, President of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation. “In 2017 we plan to launch a ‘Back to Basics’ program to help people develop outdoor recreation skills to increase their confidence and time spent in the outdoors.”
Mr. Ellison’s three year term will begin in January 2017. He will join two additional new board members including Nancy Ball and Senator Guy Reschenthaler.
New officers for 2017 and current members of the board include: Chair, Maria Montero; Vice Chair, Mary Soderberg.; Treasurer, Jim Grace; Secretary, Brian Clark,, Esq.; Development, George Asimos; George Fernandez; Gus Frederick, Maxine Harrison, Rep. Mark Longietti, Tina Molsky, and Barb Sexton. Advisory board members consist of: Linda McKenna Boxx, William Forrey, Jon C. Oliver III, Gary Smith, Mary Weber, and Rob Wonderling.
