Camp Hill, PA –The Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation (PPFF), the only non-profit whose mission is Pennsylvania’s state parks and forests announces plans for participation in the Lancaster County based ExtraOrdinary Give on November 16, 2018.
For the fourth year, PPFF has planned events as a part of the ExtraOrdinary Give. This year the public is invited to join the PPFF staff at several locations with opportunities to engage in the outdoors and with staff.
Hot Topics and Hot Chocolate is a Dutch treat discussion with PPFF President Marci where guests have a chance to ask questions about our state parks and forests. A hike at Susquehannock State Park with Amanda and Casey gives participants a chance to stretch their legs at Susquehannock State Park. The intrepid outdoor enthusiast can join William Penn State Forest District Forester Joe Frassetta and his staff with an opportunity to climb the Civilian Conservation Corps-era Hopewell Fire Tower. Marci, a Columbia native, will head to Hinkle’s where once again Dutch Treat Milkshakes with Marci affords a chance to learn about your state parks and forests. Finally, having eaten her way across the County, Marci will finish up the day with a scenic hike at Sam Lewis State Park. The ExtraOrdinary Give is a day of giving in which people are invited to donate to any participating nonprofit organizations on November 16, 2018 through Extraordinary Give’s website. What makes these donations different is the participating nonprofits get the benefit of additional money through the event’s “stretch pool” and prizes. Each non-profit receives a percentage of the $500,000 stretch pool donated by the Lancaster County Community Foundation, Rodgers & Associates, the High Foundation, and community sponsors.
