The current budget proposal that passed the Pennsylvania House of Representatives—HB 218—severely underfunds the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Department of Environmental Protection. If you enjoy clean water, if you like to spend time pursuing your passions in the outdoors, if you would like to ensure our children and our children’s children have the same access to outdoors that we were privileged to have, then take a few minutes and do the following:

• Call or write your elected officials and ask them to invest in the department of conservation and natural resources at cost to carry and to increase funding to the department of environmental protection
• Share this action alert with at least one other person, if not two!
• Take pictures of yourself enjoying the outdoors and post them to twitter or Instagram using #saveourparksandforests, #PaBudget and #Pennsylvania
• If you are a small business owner who benefits from fully functioning parks and forests, let your elected official know how cuts to DCNR could impact YOU
