Champion Photographer Takes Prize in
Pennsylvania Parks & Forests Foundation Photo Contest

(Camp Hill, PA) – A photograph by Cameron Pritts, age 14, of Champion, PA won Critics Choice in the Young Photographers category of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation’s (PPFF) Parks & Forests Through the Seasons 2015 Photo Contest. The winning photograph featured colorful kayaks on the beach at Laurel Hill State Park.

“I volunteer for the friends of Laurel Hill. My mom and I have been volunteering there since I was about 6,” Cameron says. “I was volunteering the day I took the photo. I love all of the colors of the boats along the beautiful backdrop of the park!”

The PPFF contest included six categories: Black and White, Capture the Seasons, Friends and Family Fun, Young Photographers (photographers aged 10-21), Historical Gems, and Nature Up Close. All photos had to be taken in a Pennsylvania state park or forest. A “people’s choice” winner was selected in each category by popular vote on Facebook with a “critics’ choice” winner chosen by a select group of judges in each category. Two overall “best in show” photographs were likewise chosen through popular vote and by the judges.

The winning photographs may be viewed at the Foundation’s Facebook page: http://bit.ly/2015ppffphotocontestwinners (where they may also be downloaded for use by the media) as well as in the Foundation’s other electronic communications including Take Five: Fridays with Pam and Explore: Pennsylvania’s Outdoors in Your Inbox available on the PPFF website.
