Waynesboro Photographer Takes Prize in Pennsylvania Parks & Forests Foundation Photo Contest

(Camp Hill, PA) – A photograph by Larry Laird of Waynesboro, PA won 2nd Place in the Black and White category of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation’s (PPFF) Parks & Forests Through the Seasons 2015 Photo Contest. The winning photograph features an image of a snowy creek in Caledonia State Park

“It was a great Sunny Snowy day and looking to ‘chill down’ after work (literally) so I stopped by Caledonia Park for a stroll,” Larry says. “It’s nice to know that, no matter where you are in Pennsylvania, you aren’t far from peace and quiet. Just visit a State Park!”

The PPFF contest included six categories: Black and White, Capture the Seasons, Friends and Family Fun, Young Photographers (photographers aged 10-21), Historical Gems, and Nature Up Close. All photos had to be taken in a Pennsylvania state park or forest. A “people’s choice” winner was selected in each category by popular vote on Facebook with a “critics’ choice” winner chosen by a select group of judges in each category. Two overall “best in show” photographs were likewise chosen through popular vote and by the judges.

The winning photographs may be viewed at the Foundation’s Facebook page: http://bit.ly/2015ppffphotocontestwinners (where they may also be downloaded for use by the media) as well as in the Foundation’s other electronic communications including Take Five: Fridays with Pam and Explore: Pennsylvania’s Outdoors in Your Inbox available on the PPFF website.
