In 2022, the first Healthy Lands Week brought together Pennsylvanians of every interest and location to learn more about the natural and cultural resources of the commonwealth, participate in a stewardship project, or simply enjoy everything those places in the landscape have to offer. Over the years the framework of the event has shifted and evolved, but the purpose is always the same: providing ways for Pennsylvanians to be involved in the gifts of the Commonwealth’s outdoors.
So keep an eye on the PA Healthy Lands Week website for up to date information on the annual Fall celebration.
Maybe it’s a trail maintenance day, clean-up of your park’s pollinator garden, invasive species removal work, or repairs to an historic structure. Maybe you’d like to lead a bike ride on your favorite state park trail or a hike on your favorite state forest path. Maybe you want to host an open house so the community understands the assets available at your park or forest. Whatever your group envisions, it just might help your neighbor come to understand – as you do – the importance of Pennsylvania’s parks and forests.
Are you a business or other organization that would like to arrange a day of stewardship for your employees or members? Contact Marci Mowery at PPFF to talk about who, what, when, where, and how!
