Hiking/Walking

The Friends of Lyman Run will be sponsoring the the first of two Winter Adventure hikes at Lyman Run State Park.  This hike will also be an introduction to using snowshoes (provided or bring your own).  The hike leaders will meet participants at the Day-Use parking lot prior to the start of the hike scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. and will run to about 11:00 a.m.  This program is suitable for families (children should be old enough to handle wearing snowshoes) and is free of charge.  Please make sure to dress warmly and in layers. Don’t forget hats, scarves and gloves or mittens.  The snowshoe instruction will start the program and will include a short to medium long hike on the lake, depending on conditions. Since it is bound to be a bit chilly, Friends of Lyman Run members will be providing hot chocolate at the pavilion to warm up those red noses and chilly fingers.

Hike leaders will be FOLR board members Chip Harrison and John Halter. Port-a-johns are available at the boat launch area if needed.
