Education, Presentations
One of a special series of events sponsored by the Friends of Nolde Forest and the educational staff at Nolde Forest Environmental Education Center.
Hannah Salvatore, a Berks County Master Gardener for 18 years and a Berks Nature Ambassador for 3 years, will present a program showing us why we want to eliminate invasive plants and why replacing them with native plants is so very important. The presentation will show us how to identify and eliminate the invasives and how to find the appropriate natives.
After the program, particpants are invited to bring a native plant or two home to their garden from our native plant swap! If you have extra natives to share bring them, labeled, to the event, and leave with a new species from another local gardener. Plant swaps work best when everyone brings a few extra plants to share, but if you are new to natives, there will still be some plants looking for good homes to get you started on your native plant journey.
This presentaton and plant swap is being held by the Nolde Forest Friends Group as a fundraiser for the park. Registration is required for all participants. Spaces are limited, so please be sure you sign up and pay to finalize your registration spot. We will not be able to take walk up participants.
All payments are final.
Program will take place in McConnell Hall. Please park in the EE Center Lot. Gates will open 30 minutes before the event.
