Volunteer Opportunities
This year’s Autumn Clean-up will be held on Saturday, November 15th, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We will meet at the Environmental Learning Center at 9:00 AM and divide into groups. We will primarily focus on picking up trash along Route 192 between McCall Dam Road and Stover Gap Road. For volunteers with children who would like to participate, we invite you to help by searching for and picking up trash in the park’s day-use area and around Halfway Lake.
The Friends will provide gloves, trash bags, and safety vests. Please bring a water bottle and wear weather-appropriate clothing. As we’ll be working in grassy areas along the road’s edges, insect repellent is highly recommended, and checking for ticks afterward is advised!
Afterward, we will return to the Environmental Learning Center for a lunch provided by the Friends!
