Music, The Arts
WHIPPLE DAM – Come out and enjoy some great live, local music from your kayak, the swimming area, a beach towel, or the comfort of your favorite camping chair. When it gets cooler you can cozy up to the bonfire and enjoy the music of several local bands and entertainers. We have a great line-up this year.
The 2026 Series kicks off on Saturday, June 20, from 7 to 9 pm, when Pure Cane Sugar takes the stage. The group’s assemblage of masterful melodies and haunting harmonies have been captivating audiences since the band’s debut in 2007. Kate Twoey and Natalie Race deliver an eclectic mix of original music and artful cover arrangements. Known for its fusion of acoustic, roots rock, blues and country, the readers of State College Magazine has consistently selected Pure Cane Sugar as the “Best Local Band.”
Concerts are free to attend. Cash donations will be accepted during the event. The Franks Farm Food Truck, using their own local beef, is serving cheesesteaks, burgers and fresh cut fries. Performances sponsored by the Friends of Greenwood Furnace, Whipple Dam, and Penn-Roosevelt State Parks. The Friends are a non-profit local chapter of the PA Parks and Forests Foundation. Proceeds from the concerts go to the Friends group to support park programs in Whipple Dam State Park.
