A two-part Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training by Deborah Vereen has been scheduled on September 23 and September 30 from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. The training will help Friends stay in alignment with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources goals of diversity, equity and inclusion, as well assisting friends groups and campground hosts to be on the same page with language and knowledge related to DEI.

The training is entitled: “Embracing Diversity-To Connect, Engage, Achieve.” We’ll look at Pennsylvania’s changing demographics and how your chapter’s vision, mission, and strategic focus can be expanded to include more diverse audiences and participants (including a look at what that even means and why it’s important). We’ll examine how we might need to shift our own mindset and how that’s accomplished.

This training is being offered free of charge thanks to grants from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Keith Campbell Foundation. Those participating in the course will be invited to be a part of developing the PPFF DEI plan and will be the first to receive assistance in creating your own local plan.

Participation in the trainings is strongly encouraged and registration is required. (In spite of Zoom’s built-in registration language you can’t opt for “either” session – please register with a check mark in both boxes.)
