On Saturday, April 16th, 38 volunteers took part in a cleanup at Hammonds Rocks, Buzzards Rock, and Spruce Run Vista in the Michaux State Forest. These energetic volunteers removed 80 bags and seven boxes of litter, two TVs, cinder blocks, 18 tires, a swing set, miscellaneous metal, and located an entertainment center that will be removed later. They also dismantled three fire rocks–one in a parking area, one on boulders in a parking area, and one among the rocks at Hammonds. These fire rings represented possible fire danger and were not in alignment with leave no trace principles of use of public lands (nor state forestry guidelines.)
