PENNSYLVANIA PARKS AND FORESTS FOUNDATION APPOINTS SENATOR GUY RESCHENTHALER TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Camp Hill, PA –The Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation (PPFF), the only non-profit whose mission is Pennsylvania’s state parks and forests, today announced the appointment of Senator Guy Reschenthaler to its board of directors, effective January 1st, 2017.
Senator Reschenthaler was elected to the State Senate in November 2015, winning a special election to represent the citizens of the 37th Senatorial District, which includes portions of Allegheny County and Peters Township in Washington County.
“I am humbled to be selected to serve on the Pennsylvania Parks & Forests Foundation Board,” said Senator Reschenthaler. “As an avid runner, hiker, and general outdoorsman I have a great appreciation for Pennsylvania’s numerous parks and forests. The knowledge I will gain from serving on the board of PPFF will help me to be a better advocate for conserving, protecting, and enhancing our commonwealth’s parks and forests in the Pennsylvania Senate.”
“The Senator brings a passion for the outdoors to his new role as a board member,” said Marci Mowery, President of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation. “His experience in launching programs and public outreach will be valuable assets to advancing our mission of stewardship of our public lands.”
Senator Reschenthaler’s three year term will begin in January 2017. He will join two additional new board members including Nancy Ball and Jae Ellison.
New officers for 2017 and current members of the board include: Chair, Maria Montero; Vice Chair, Mary Soderberg.; Treasurer, Jim Grace; Secretary, Brian Clark, Esq.;Development, George Asimos; George Fernandez; Gus Frederick, Maxine Harrison, Rep. Mark Longietti, Tina Molsky, and Barb Sexton. Advisory board members consist of: Linda McKenna Boxx, William Forrey, Jon C. Oliver III, Gary Smith, Mary Weber, and Rob Wonderling.
