The ExtraGive for Pennsylvania’s Parks and Forests
Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation announces participation in the ExtraGive, Nov 19th

Camp Hill, PA –The Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation (PPFF), the non-profit organization dedicated to the stewardship of Pennsylvania’s parks and forests through volunteerism and education, will be participating in the ExtraGive on November 19th.

The ExtraGive is an annual online day of giving created and supported by the Lancaster County Community Foundation to shine a light on non-profit organizations and help them raise much-needed funding for mission-driven work. Gifts to the Pennsylvania Park and Forest Foundation can be made during the ExtraGive at: https://www.extragive.org/organizations/pennsylvania-parks-and-forests-foundation

Nearly 47 million people visited Pennsylvania’s state parks in 2020 and untold millions to our state forests. This record high visitation has continued since. For many, the pandemic increased awareness about the need for outdoor spaces for physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.  Families and individuals flocked to state parks and forests to hike, bike, paddle, and simply take in the scenic views and find respite in nature. Pennsylvania’s parks and forests provided space for socially-distant meeting.

Working closely with state park and forest staff, the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation and its 48 chapters advances accessibility and education, funds and completes projects to improve the visitor experience, restores and enhances natural assets, and creates recreation opportunities across the commonwealth.

Join PPFF online for the ExtraGive on Friday, November 19th to participate in a full day of programs with special guests livestreaming on Facebook and YouTube. PPFF will be sharing information and providing giveaways on social media all throughout the day.

“We are thankful to the Lancaster County Community Foundation and their supporters for empowering this global day of giving,” said Marci Mowery, President of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation. “Their generosity not only provides a vehicle for private donations, their stretch pool makes the donor dollars go even farther. It’s a fun day!”
