Camp Hill, PA –The Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation (PPFF), the only non-profit whose mission is Pennsylvania’s state parks and forests, today announced the formation of the Friends of World’s End State Park. The newly formed group will be meeting on October 14th at noon, at the parks visitor’s center to discuss ideas and projects for the park.
A friends group consists of motivated people and organizations in the community that understand the value and benefits of a state park or forest and share a common goal to work with PPFF and the DCNR in making that park or forest the best in the Commonwealth. Working with PPFF, the Friends of Worlds End will seek to improve and enhance the Worlds End State Park experience for all park visitors.
“The people who use, enjoy, and live near the Commonwealth’s 121 state parks and 2.2 million acres of state forests are often the best supporters of these lands,” said Marci Mowery, President of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation. “The Friends of Worlds End State Park will be important to enhancing the conservation and enjoyment of this wonderful natural resource.”
“Please come and join Worlds End State Park Friends Group to give back to a park that has been in so many people’s lives generation after generation of families,” said Bill Kocher, Park Manager, Worlds End State Park.

The Friends of Worlds End State Park is working to recruit volunteers, members and donors to help with projects and event ideas. All interested parties are welcome and encouraged to attend the next meeting on October 14th. For information, contact Worlds End State Park at (570) 924-3287.
