In honor of #ParkAndRecreationProfessionalsDay, a huge round of applause 👏👏👏 for those who keep our public land safe and enjoyable for all!
“Just as we give thanks for the gift of our public lands, we know they require a lot of attention, and the visitors deserve a welcome and safe environment. We have seen over this past year just how important both are. They are a collective investment to protect our environment, improve our heath, and better our quality of life.”

💧 Always provide plenty of drinking water
🌳 Take a break from the sun and relax in the shade
🐾 Paws are sensitive to heat. Consider taking walks in early morning or in the evening when it’s cooler outside.
🚗 Never leave your pup in the car unattended!

"Most people in 2021 stay inside and play video games, watch tv, etc. They could be doing many other things like spending time in nature."
We couldn't agree more! These words of wisdom are from Aleena, our youngest guest blogger and granddaughter of PPFF's very own Bookkeeper, Bernadette Howard.

We were pleased to present the @friendsofbeltzville with PPFF’s COVID-19 Champion Award (in person!) for their commitment to Public Safety.
Throughout the pandemic, Beltzville State Park has experienced a record number of visitors. These volunteers have been steadfast in their commitment to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience by directing traffic, cleaning up trash, and educating visitors on how to utilize and care for the park. Along with these efforts, the Friends have added a pollinator garden and a @littlefreelibrary to the grounds.
Many thanks to all of the volunteers for their dedication and for their work alongside park staff!
