PPFF Changing Lives
PPFF member Cathy Jackson, a nature lover all her life, is so grateful for the work of the Foundation that she makes a monthly gift. “As with anything we care about, it needs support to be maintained. The work of PPFF keeps our parks healthier and provides access for people of all levels of physical abilities.”
Individual Membership
You spend as much time as you can in Pennsylvania’s state parks and forests. You belong on the membership rolls of the Foundation! Our basic membership levels provide ongoing support to our work:
- Friend of PPFF – $25 ($35 Family; $20 Student/Senior)
- Enthusiast – $50
- Steward – $100
- Protector – $250
- Conservationist – $500
When you join one of our Legacy Circles, you join a special group of individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to preserving the legacy of conservation upon which our state parks and forests were founded. Members of the Circles bridge the gap between the past and future, ensuring a park and forest system that we will proudly hand to future generations.
Legacy Circle Memberships
Goddard Circle – $1,000
The Goddard Circle honors the legacy of Maurice K. Goddard, often considered the father of the Pennsylvania Park system. Goddard’s visionary leadership spanned six administrations, growing our park system by 50 parks (fulfilling his goal for a state park within 25 miles of every Pennsylvanian), ensuring free access to parks, making improvements to forestry practices, and preserving water quality. When you become a member of the Goddard Circle, you receive two tickets to the annual awards banquet.
Dock Circle – $2,500
The Dock Circle commemorates the pioneering work of Mira Lloyd Dock, often considered the Mother of Forestry for her work with the fledgling Pennsylvania Forestry Commission (the first woman appointed to a Pennsylvania state government position—at a time when women were not even allowed to vote) and at the State Forestry Academy at Mont Alto (an institution she helped found). She literally wrote the book on botany that she used in her lectures at Mont Alto and, along with fellow Harrisburg native Horace McFarland, Ms. Dock championed environmental improvements in her home city. When you become a member of the Dock Circle, you receive four tickets to the annual awards banquet.
Rothrock Circle – $5,000
The Rothrock Circle honors the legacy of Joseph T. Rothrock, often considered the father of the Pennsylvania Forest system. Rothrock, appointed as the first commissioner of forestry, identified and purchased important tracks of land to preserve water quality, reduce erosion and wildfires, and ultimately reforest. He also launched the State Forest Academy at Mont Alto, making Pennsylvania a leader in forestry that still exists today, with our 2.2 million acres of certified sustainable forests. When you become a member of the Rothrock Circle, you receive eight tickets to the annual awards banquet (an entire table).
Pinchot Circle – $10,000
The Pinchot Circle honors the work of Gifford Pinchot, the first U.S. Forester and two- term governor of Pennsylvania. Pinchot’s leadership during the early years of the Civilian Conservation Corps enabled Pennsylvania to engage more than 190,000 young men in gainful employment fighting wildfires; replanting forests; preventing forest disease; and building bridges, trails, dams, roads, cabins and other infrastructure found in many of our parks and forests today. When you become a member of the Pinchot Circle, you receive eight tickets to the annual awards banquet (an entire table) as well as special recognition in our banquet program
Conservation Legacy Society – $25,000+
The Conservation Legacy Society recognizes a commitment to our public lands for today and future generations by making a remarkable contribution to the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation, not unlike the remarkable contributions of the “boys” of the Civilian Conservation Corps. In addition to membership in PPFF and the Legacy Circle, members of the Conservation Legacy Society receive two tables at the annual awards banquet (a total of 16 tickets), special recognition at the banquet, and insider tours of our state parks and forests with PPFF board members and friends.
