  • In 2009, representatives from some of Pennsylvania’s prominent historical and environmental organizations came together to answer one simple question: Where will we find our future conservation leaders?

26It became apparent that the best way to look forward was to look back and when we turned around, standing head and shoulders above all others was Maurice K. Goddard, for almost 25 years the Secretary of what is now the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. “Doc” Goddard and the lessons to be learned from his leadership became the foundation of the Goddard Legacy Project.

In 2014, nearly six years after its inception, the partners came together once again to expand the scope and vision of the project. There are other giants of Pennsylvania’s conservation heritage, and we’re proud to help tell their stories. http://www.paconservationheritage.org/
