  • Clean water is essential to all life. Whether it’s our source for drinking water, favorite cold-water trout stream, or local swimming spot, clean water is a necessity. And, just as important as the water itself, so are the forests that play an important role in purifying the water.

In recognition of the interconnectedness of water and woodlands and in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Clean Water Act, the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation is focusing on Clean Water and Forested Ecosystems as this year’s theme and will be sharing relative information, featuring guest bloggers and hosting special activities to celebrate clean water and raise awareness about the water-related infrastructure needs of PA’s parks and forests as well as water pollution issues throughout the state.

Join us and help us spread the word about the importance of healthy forests and clean water for all living beings.

The April 2022 issue of Johnstown Magazine takes an in-depth look at the role trees play in our lives from flood control to cleaning the air. And it tells of ways to get involved and plant more trees!
